My side of the Story
You have all read the story of my Little Gissi
Well here is my Side to the Story and how it all began that Gissi and I found one another
I was informed by my Doctor that I would not be able to work again with the Illness I have, I had been bullied out of my Job from 8 years when they heard about my Illness, which put me through a lot of Stress fighting the Company and it made me worse then what I had been.
Then our Dog Max developed Cancer and he had to be put down as he was to old to be treated. I stayed with him and it broke my Heart, the 11 years we had this beautiful Dog he was a brilliant Dog. He was more my Sons Dog but he loved everyone even the Cats, lol. It was fortunate that my Mum and her Husband where over from Germany, as I took it really bad. Max passed away in my Arms and I laid next to him in the Vets crying and calling his Name, it broke me. My Girl had to leave the room as she could not watch it, she was so upset as he had looked at her before the Injection was given to him. My Mums Husband stayed with me and tried to get me to leave Max, it took him 10 minutes to prise me away from Max. I said never again I had lost so many Pets and it is so hard each time. The 4 Cats missed him to, they where very sad. This was in the April 2004. This is our Dog Max. In June my Kids said they would like me to have another Dog, as they did not want me to be on my own all Day while they where at work and that. They said they would like to get me one for my Birthday which was that Month. I wasn't to sure as it hurts so much when they go. My Daughter told me then that she had already been to a Kennel and saw some lovely Puppies. Well my Birthday was 2 weeks away and I agreed to go with her at the Weekend. On the Saturday we go to the Kennels. I really hate going to these Places lol as I want to take them all with me. We walk round and then she takes me to see the Puppies. Yes they are Sweet and cute, but they won't be ready to leave till the following week. Mel had disappeared and I notice a door that is open, nosy as I am I wander over to have a look and I see another 4 Cages, so of course I go in and take a look. In the first Cage was a white Dog looking so sad he came over and I stroked him, Cage 2 was a yappy little thing that had a lot to say, lol, Cage 3 was a viscous little Fellow and then in Cage 4, well it looked Empty and as I am looking Mel found me and she says that one won't come to anyone. I look again and there in the back corner is the sweetest little Fellow I have ever seen looking at me. He looks so sad and I hold my Hand out to him. Mel says be careful Mum please, and he won't come to anyone he wouldn't come to us last week. I see the little Fellow get up and I talk to him very softly and ask him to come to me. Mel is just standing there saying "Mum he doesn't come to anyone" I ignore her as I am to busy with this little Cutie. Mel stands there watching him slowly move closer to me, she can not understand why he is coming to me. She comes a bit closer and he backs away a bit but then starts moving forward to me again, as I am telling him it is ok. As he got close enough for me to touch him, I slowly turned my Hand to stroke him and before I can stroke him he puts his little Head in my hand and that was it, I didn't want a Puppy I wanted this little Thing, who had just put his Trust in me. I tell my Daughter that I want this one, and she starts saying, that he is to old, to look how grey he is, and that he could die any Day and then I would have the Pain again. I tell her that I don't care, Puppies will get a Home any Day and if this little one does not trust anyone he will never get a home, and if he if he is that old and should die at least I know he died being loved and not in these Cages. She was still arguing with me and I said if I don't get him then I don't want any. She phones my Son and of course he is giving it well if that is what she wants but I won't be taking it for a walk and that. Well I know how much my Kids Love Dogs and I know that they will love him. Eventually she gave in as I said him or no one. The Lady tells us that they do not know how old he is, that he won't go to anyone, and that he had been brought in by the Police and that he had been in a bad way. She was amazed that he had come to me like he did. We pay for him and they hand him to me. He puts his little Head on my Chest. I feel like crying for this little Man, as I can tell he has had a bad Life, my Daughter touches him gently and he pushes closer to me. We take him Home and he does not leave my Side for Days. He is still in a bad way, he had a bad cough and also we where trying to get rid of the Fleas. My Son comes home and of course he fusses him, but we notice Gissi backs away from him and starts to shake. So we knew then that he had been hurt by a Man, my Son talks to him and he tells him that he has no worries no one will hurt him. After 2 weeks he does start to go to my Daughter and my Sons Partner, but he is still a bit weary of my Son and of his Friends to. Then one night the Kids have a drink, they go to stroke Gissi and he snarls at them, again specially at my Son. So we figure from there that he is scared of drunk People. He still follows me everywhere. A couple of times he bit me because I was pushing him and I knew then that it was not 100% Trust yet on his Part. But as soon as he had bit me, he looked at me sad and just sat there. I would pick him up and tell him it is ok and that we will get there. In the Meantime I also noticed that he sits nice when he wanted something or if you gave him a Treat. Well Gissi has been with us 6 Months and he is a totally different Dog, he is still Mummy's Boy lol but he loves the Kids to. They are aloud to play with him and he starts sitting with them, yes even with my Son. He loves all of them. And of course they love him, well he does have a great Personality lol. He stands his ground lol believe me. He will talk to you and he will have the last the word, he will make sure you give him attention when he wants it. He knows where his Goodies are. It took a lot of Pain, loving and caring but we got there. Gissi has been with me now nearly 3 Years and now that him and me have moved away the Kids miss him lol, so does my Sons Dog Cookie, who my Son and his Partner got last year, she is lovely to. My Gissi is like a child and he is loving, mischievous, cheeky and just wonderful. He is a little Heart breaker and he is loved by everyone. You can't help but love this cheeky Monkey. The good news the Vet thinks he is only about 5 years old going by his good Teeth. He says he has very good and strong Teeth (yes don't I know it I felt them twice lol) so hopefully my little Monkey will be with me for years to come. He does have a Skin Condition which I am still helping him with and with which he has to go to the Vet, but apart from that he is one happy and cheeky Pooch that has certainly and still does brightened my Life.

Gissi is so sweet. I love to read about how you and him have grown to love each other. You have written a beautiful story to show the steps you have gone through to get where you are. It was not all roses when you started but 3 years later, it was all worth it. Keep sharing all the stories of the little man.
Wow! Essex, this is a great one!I will take your ideas to heart!
Thanks!
